Walkin’ the streets of New York, remind me of San Antone

Every town we play in, it makes me want to go home

They say “Home is where the  heart is”, and I’m want to tell you now

I dream sweet dreams of Texas, the home of the Longhorn cow

They got country music and Lone Star Beer

And something called watermelon wine

Friendly folks and real cowpokes

Sweet Texas you’re on my mind

If you ain’t been to Texas, there’s a lot more for you to know

From the dusty roads near Austin to the streets of El Paso

There’s Piney Woods near Lufkin and there’s sagebrush in the west

Of the fifty stars on “Old Glory” you know that Lone Star is the best

Now you know that I’m a Texan, and I’m awful proud of that

I own a pair of cowboy boot and I’m proud to wear my hat

I like old country honky tonks and the music that makes me whirl

You know I love those Texas women, they’re the prettiest in the world

They got country music and Lone Star Beer

And something called watermelon wine

Friendly folks and real cowpokes

Sweet Texas you’re on my mind

Sweet Texas you’re on my mind
